« on: January 15, 2011, 10:37:44 AM »
The Cumberland County RC Club will have a indoor electric funfly on Saturday, February 5, beginning at 9:30 am, Central Time.  We have the use of the gym at First Baptist Church in Crossville on Hwy 127 South.  The flying area is about 80 feet by 100 feet, and minimum ceiling height is about 20 feet at the outer walls.  Flying will end at 3:00 pm, CST.

For more info contact me at blankenshipjg@charter.net or call at 931 484-2986.

Hey John,
I posted this in the site calendar and hope to be able to make it myself.  I haven't checked my daughter's soccer schedule yet, but if time allows, I'll be there.

I found the church on Google Maps.  If anyone is wanting directions, click the word Directions in the bubble below:

Take care and hope you have a great turnout.  I'm guessing that AMA card is required to fly.  Is there a landing fee?

Thanks,
Kerbob

Hello John-

      Thanks for the invitation.

I'd like to attend but I'm not sure of my schedule yet. I won't know for sure if I can make it until a few days before the event.

I'll echo Kerbob's question on landing fee and AMA requirement... also is there a weight limit?

Kerbob & Shagrug

Thanks for your replies.  Hope you are able to make it.  We don't have any hard and fast rules.  AMA is preferred.  Wts under 12 to 16 oz are OK, but we reserve the right to request no-fly for models deemed unsafe.

John

I'm getting ready to go today, and will be there far as I know. Not sure when I'll get there or how long I'll stay.

Anyone else local planning to go?

A nice event today- met some nice people too. I was a hour or so late with a flat tire problem there about Rockwood but otherwise no problems.

There was a young fellow there who could really fly a heli- I missed his best work but got a min or two in this clip. You can also see the size of the building in the background.  The building is draft free and the ceiling fairly smooth (hang up-wise)- a very nice place. The only problem I had was the rubber mat flooring- it has 1/2" peferations that made the wheels on some of my micro planes get stuck. Peanut size planes or bigger had no problem.

      Thanks again for the invite.
