Kind of wish I had come by so I could see that fly....my bank account may have appreciated the fact that I didn't though.   :dontknow

I had the field to myself...calm winds, nice sun, and peace and quiet...nothing to drown out the sound of my dying gasp as I fade from heat stroke in the pursuit of a little hang time...   :WOW

BlueNote: I'm amazed by the cuts in the balsa for the edge reinforcements. Perfection.  Who's hand prints were those?

Bamabaxter: We need to get our deltas together.

I agree about the laser cutting.  Other than the holes for the boom, everything fit together perfectly.  I suspect the source of the booms may have changed a little since they made the files or cut the wood.  It proved to be a well planned out kit.  The hand prints are my daughters.  The smaller size looked better and showed more of the shape.  She thought the idea was crazy, but liked it in the end.

Did you or anyone you know go?  I'd like to send out a first hand experience in the next westknoxrc newsletter so we can further plant the dlg seed.

Kerbob,

I not only went but I took 3 up and coming local DLGers.   I went to Kentucky with Bluenote(Chris), indgroove(Charles) and tbird911(David) for a three day weekend of DLG bliss :D.  Now, each one of the new DLGers have multiple DLGs built and flying.  Last Saturday we all spent 6 hours thermal flying and had blast. To no surprise, Everyone is Hooked!

I would be glad to put something together for the news letter. Maybe one of the others could cotribute as well.  I also have several pictures of the event.

I busy with work for the next week or so, PM me a deadline for the entry and I'll see what I can do :)

Thanks for the video bluerocket.  I  love the perspective from the tri/quad kopter?  If you fly DLG or if you are interested in checking it out let me know.  We would love to have you join us.

Thanks for the invite. I'd love to get into DLG, but I have so little time, and so many things I'm already involved in. Maybe one of these days.

thought I would show a DLG wing tip repair.  David had creased the wing tip of this plane and the peg was in an akward postion. I removed his peg, fixed the crease and gave the tip a large Carbon Fiber patch.  I still have to install a peg but I don't think I'll be ripping the the peg out of this tip on launch :D

:D Well....it looks as if i'll have to get it together soon!
I now have a (still) unfinished depron dynamite and an unopened alula and am scratching funds for daves vandal!
I know I have an addictive personality defect but this is still safer than the alternative! :-[
Hope to fly with you guys soon!
Mike.
