Flight Simulator X
« on: August 24, 2011, 03:43:53 PM »
Due to health issues, this flying season has not seen much of me!
As a result a christmas present has managed to keep me aviating! (Wife got me FSX!)
With help from Tom @ TnT, I have a computer that handles online flight well.
I understand there are a few of you who fly online also so I invite you to look in the Fly-in's section for RCGroups(wherever I decide to fly at the time), I usually start at TN08, Oliver springs. Unless i'm flying something too big, then I go to MaggieTys.
My handle there is m52s, so look me up &  join in!

Also...here's a link to some great performance boosting tips for FSX...

I have been able to move my sliders more to the right than I thought possible!!

Wow gang! I'm glad to hear others fly on FSX! I've never flown online but I guess it's time to do so. I have included a photo of my home cockpit that consist of CH products as well as products from the Desktopaviator. I love this thing and fly almost every day. I like the 737 as you can tell by the photo. I still have some left over inventory from my venture on EBay when I sold Flight Sim cockpit decals. I have also enclosed a photo of the decal sheet. The photo does not do the decal sheet any justice as these are aluminum sheets with black lettering and you just cut out the ones you need. I think every switch or possible switch is covered on the sheet and was made just for FSX. The photo of my cockpit does not have the decals on it as this photo was taken before I started making the Decal sheets.

Can you Flight Simulator X with a Realflight controller? Or is there a cheap setup somewhere? I am interested in checking this out.

No.... FSX is a computer simulator that uses several( and I mean several)different keyboard strokes or Flight Sim Hardware to operate. It's two different ball games but your R/C controller will not work. At the present time the FSX software runs around $50-$70 and the controllers run anywhere from $50-the sky is the limit.

WallyWorld had the FSX Gold (with acceleration) for $30. I found a 3 axis joystick at habitat for humanity for $2!
It has 7 buttons on it and  the tophat button on top.

I'll be on but not till after 930pm.
If I'm hosting it'll be in the "fly-ins" section, (usually minimum users there as opposed to "free flight" where everyone seems to go). Look for..... RCGroupsTenn(whatever airport I decide on).
