Found out something about a Sony Bloggie..

It is  GREAT HD cam but has a really crappy flat lens in front of the real (tiny) lens. Remove it and ...well...you'll see..

Snagged a Boomer in clear air at VAM in 2 minutes and was nearly OOS at 4 minutes. Deployed full spoilers that normally is like slamming on the brakes at low altitude...and tried to get it back down for 10 minutes solid!!. A Hawk took off from a tree when I folded the prop and he passed me up at about 2,000' when I hit the spoilers and was trying to get back down. Great day for soaring...done fully visual (No FPV)

Sounds like a great day.  I've heard really good things about the Gentle Lady.  It's still a favorite for a lot of flyers and I heard it can take a lot of abuse.  Does your Bloggie send a live video feed to a vid TX?

Hi Kerbob

It can, although I have not done it yet. Been trying to get the recording clarity correct and some of it is probably this xp computer. The bloggie is  big and heavy compared to most my cams (kefob 808's) and the GL and Boomerang were the only ones I've sent it up on. (Boomerang was trashed and is being improved) and was the best platform for the Bloggie.

Not done it yet, but I would bet money that a GL with the CPD4 co-pilot and the Bloggie with the fpv link would be a killer FPV duration rig...but not sure how the CPD4 co-pliot does on rudder as I have only flown it using ailerons and  elevator.

Got another design (not finished yet) but was designed to take advantage of the Bloggies aerodynamic low frontal area in a really efficient design.

This GL could be greatly improved by replacing the 1/4 inch birch dowels  I used for pushrods with a pull-pull system and use 9 gram servos rather than the huge Futaba standards I have in it. That alone would take ounces off the all up weight as it would require a much smaller battery to balance.

As far as flying FPV...its kinda like driving a truck...but fun
