I don't know much/anything about Futaba, I'm sure that would be a good transmitter. Just know the Futaba rx's are a touch more expensive than the other 2.4Ghz brands available. Rx's by far will be your biggest cost if you have many planes, or eventually want to have many planes. Once you choose a brand in 2.4Ghz it's hard to switch because all the rx's are tied to that brand. So you just can't change transmitters very easily if you find later you want something else. If you only plan on a plane or two, don't worry about it, the prices of the rx's won't be enough to make a difference. Also, just do a search on RCG for that transmitter to see what the going rate has been, and then make an offer accordingly.

I don't know if that radio supports exponential, end point ajustments, or mixes, but if it does, that seems ok to me. I personally prefer the DX6i for a ~$100 radio because its what I used and I have only good things to say about it.

The two your looking at are roughly comparable, but I would go with the DX6i, the Spektrum receivers are cheaper in the small stuff, the DX6i is easier to program for the relatively new to that sort of thing, plus it opens up all the parkzone bind-n-fly stuff to you
One item of note, if you DO get the DX6i, not all spektrum receivers are full range, ie dont put a AR6100 parkflyer RX in a 40sized fuel plane, be sure to use an AR500 or better for that, AR6100's are great RX's for small stuff thats kept in close though, and they can be had for less than $40ea

Here's another good option, $70 shipped for an Airtronics RDS8000 8 ch radio, with an upgraded 1500nimh battery. Rx's are pretty much on par, or close to Spektrum rx's, and can be bought or ordered through Tom at TNT. I still have one of these and it works great and has lots of programability.

That sux that you bought a brand new radio though and aren't going to use it. Can you return it?
It's good though that you made the decision to get something better. Your radio is the most crucial part. If you can't control your plane pretty much nothing else matters. So you need something that will be easy for you and that you can trust to work everytime.

ja it does suck Ive tried a couple of times through e-mail at hobbypartz.com but no one will ever reply to me. i am pretty sure that i have everything set up right and all it will do is blink once then go off. ive had it working before when i first go it but it wouldn't stay bind to the transmitter so i never took it up in the air. i hate that i put the money in for the transmitter and it wont even work but i guess lesson learned. if anybody knows of anyone that has a 2.4 transmitter for sell preferably a 6-ch keep me in mind i try to contact some local shop to see if anyone has one for sell
Thanks
