I don't know if you guys have seen this or not, but it looks pretty cool, and has been getting pretty good reviews on RCG. With the Aurora 9's release, real-time in-flight telemetry is starting to make it's way to reality, although I'm not sure exactly what the A9 will transmit back to the radio. With this unit any radio system can have the battery voltage sent back to you, so that you know exactly what each cell's voltage is during flight, and hopefully keep you from ever over discharging your packs again.
It's reported to not interfere with your radio's 2.4Ghz signal. It shows a price of $99.95, but when you put it in your cart it goes down to $69.95. A little bit more than I am ready to pull the trigger on now, but I will watch it and see if it goes down, or adds amp draw to the transmission, either would likely push me over the edge. Oh, and a programmable voltage alarm would probably do it too, it has one, but at a preset level that I think is too low to really protect your packs.
Like I said, I don't really know what the A9 will transmit, but I've read it slows down the latency rates for the radio, and to me the only things I care about are flight battery amp draw and voltage. This unit gets me halfway there, but to be honest, amp draw would be nice to know, but not nearly as important as cell voltage.
Technology is only going to get better, and this is a nice unit making the first step, I think eventually you will see it progress onto head's up displays of the telemetry information. But again, this is a very nice start!
